Avenel Equine Hospital is in the heart of Victoria’s thoroughbred breeding region about an hour north of Melbourne and provides multidisciplinary specialist services alongside a comprehensive ambulatory service to our local clients. The hospital team consists of European and American recognised veterinary specialists in internal medicine and surgery with a wealth of experience in equine surgery, medicine, diagnostic imaging, anaesthesia, lameness, and reproduction. The veterinary team is supported by nursing, stable, and laboratory staff. THE ROLE
We are seeking motivated veterinary graduates striving for excellence in equine practice to work in all areas of our hospital. Our interns play an integral role in the care of hospitalised patients, admission of emergencies and daily management of cases under supervision of our senior veterinarians.
REQUIREMENTS
- Veterinary degree and ability to register with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of Victoria
- English language competency in line with registration requirements
- Eligibility for Australian work visa if non-resident
- Excellent communication skills and effective team worker able to prioritise and follow well documented processes and procedures
- Prior student placement at equine hospitals within Australia or overseas
