Sofia graduated from the University of Buenos Aires in 2015. She completed a rotational internship at Myhre Equine Clinic in New Hampshire. Following that, she was invited to Ireland for a three-month neonatology externship with Siobhan McAuliffe during the foaling season. Her interest in neonates and internal medicine grew significantly during this time, prompting her to undertake a specialty internship in internal medicine at the University of Guelph in Canada in 2019. After the internship, she pursued board certification in Large Animal Internal Medicine and successfully completed the Residency program at the University of Guelph in 2024.
