Dr Stacey Sullivan

Stacey grew up on a cattle and grain property in regional Central Queensland and wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember. She graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Queensland in 2004. Beginning her career at Oakey Veterinary Hospital in SE Qld, she attained her Membership in Equine Medicine in 2008. Following time as an internal medicine clinician at Rossdales in the UK, Stacey relocated to Victoria to complete her Residency in Equine Internal Medicine at the University of Melbourne (2011-2014)

Stacey is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Equine Medicine and a Diplomate of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine. She has both a Master of Veterinary Science (Clinical) and a Master of Philosophy for research into Exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage (EIPH, bleeding) in racehorses.

Dr Sullivan is a former board member of the Veterinary Practitioners Board of Victoria, is active on the ANZCVS executive committee and has been an examiner at both Membership and Fellowship level for the ANZCVS for equine medicine. She is a committed mentor for interns and recent graduate veterinarians, coordinating the intern program at Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital where she also worked as an internal medicine specialist for the last 8 years.

Dr Sullivan joins Avenel Equine Hospital as an internal medicine specialist with clinical interests in neonatal medicine, intensive care and cardiology.
